I recently helped my lady with a project she wanted to complete. She wanted to enter a cooking contest put on by Philidelphia Cream Cheese and Paula Dean. You had to make a video of yourself preparing a dish that fit into one of the four categories of the contest. Entree, appetizer, side dish, or desert. She chose appetizer and had a great recipe to go along with it. She did her hair and makeup while I being the professional camera man that I am, set up the lighting in the kitchen (side note......she just came out of the bedroom where she was exercising and told me that she wants to make ANOTHER video with a new recipe.) and worked on where I thought the best shots would come from. Let me tell you that trying to make a good quality video with a very inexpensive camera is next to impossible. I guess that it helps to know how to work the video editing program as well. In true Hollywood fashion, it took about an hour to shoot the ten minute long video. The takes weren't perfect, the sound not great, and the lighting with a whole bunch of shadows.......but other than that, I think she did a great job, and it actually turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. With that, I need to prepare for the next one she wants to make.
